Mike Vecellio

Mike Vecellio brought his multiple talents, including keyboards, bass guitar, rhythm guitar, vocals and (upon request) accordion to The Prescription in 2003.

At the age of 9, he was inspired by The Beatles after their appearance on The Ed Sullivan Show and knew from that time on that music would be his passion. Piano and accordion lessons began at age 10 and he was self-taught in rhythm and bass guitar. He was off to New York City at age 13 with the Ron Richardello Philharmonic Orchestra, an all-accordion band, to audition for the Ted Mack Amateur Hour.

A few years later Mike, and his cousin Dom Vecellio, formed the band "Townhouse" and played for high schools, colleges and venues in their local community and surrounding areas. Mike has played keyboards with Chuck Berkeley in the funk & soul band "Cold Duck" from Pittsfield, MA and also played bass guitar and keyboards with the New York based band "Blues Express" featuring Eric Despard, Mike Chapman and Doug Smith. He has performed in various locations such as "The Beatlefest" in Hoosick Falls, New York as well as the annual "Pinestock Festival" and has sat in with Jimmy Mack & The Kool Kats on Norwegian Cruise Line's "Pride of America" while on his honeymoon in Maui, Hawaii.

"It is very rewarding for us to see people enjoying our music. I feel very fortunate to be a part of The Prescription-we have great chemistry among us and as the song says-"We Are Family".
