Rowen Caplan
This guy heard more opera before he was born than most hear in their entire lives. (Mom's an opera singing soprano, and both parents were musicians with the Met.) He's not too big on it though.
His influences are too vast to list. He loves almost all styles, and plays many. Started with the trumpet at age 7. By the time he was 9 he began his life as a drummer, starting studies at age 15. He has studied with several of NYC's finest, and among other schools, studied at the Julliard Music Conservatory with session and performance great Gordon Gottlieb.
Over the years he has played with dozens of bands including the new wave band The Nude Ants. One song that he co-wrote was a big success in Europe. He also worked and wrote with the very progressive Artificial Intelligence. He cut his teeth playing the demanding New York, New Jersey and Connecticut tri-state bar circuit.
Besides playing with his most fun band (The Prescription)and several others, he resides in Western Massachusetts, where he owns and runs a recording studio.
