Shanti Mayer

"There is nothing more fabulous than singing and dancing for a crowd who is dancing and singing right back. This is the musical medicine of the Prescription, a combination of super talented, versatile, and friendly musicians who love what they are doing so much that the crowd loves it right back."

Shanti has been riding these musical highs with the Prescription since 2003. Joining up as a backup singer/dancer, she's moved on to sing lead songs, as well as play keyboards and hand percussion.

As a natural harmonizer she has performed and recorded with area songwriters Bruce Wheat (CD-THIS MORNING), Ferrilyn Sourdiffe, Stephen Alcorn, and Bob Warren. She can be heard on Mallory O'Donnell's album JOY, produced by Bob Warren and Tony Markellis.

As a member of the folk band ADESSO, she appeared on WAMC's Performance Place, as well as performing in many coffeehouses and concert series in the tri-state area, including the Folk Life Center at the Crandall Library,(Glens Falls, NY), Troy City Music Hall, (Troy, NY), the Hart Lounge at the Egg, (Albany, NY), and Cafe Lena, (Saratoga Springs, NY).
